Animal was very decomposed when it washed up. Villagers butchered the carcass to retrieve the bones. Extremely unsafe practices demonstrated by all the villagers involved, illustrating a need for health and safety briefing for Tongan Department of Health. Carcass too decomposed to i.d. sex or life stage. Samples may be retrieved for genetic analysis.
